Key takeaways
- Analytics starts from an action log: content edits, new publications and channel distributions, recorded by date.
- Against that log it tracks AI crawler visits, the pages AI cites, visits from AI platforms and how competitors are cited for the same questions.
- Connected traffic and lead data extend the comparison from AI visibility to website visits and leads.
- Results feed AI Marketer, which proposes the next improvement tasks, so measurement leads straight into the next round of work.
Why a measure stage
flowgen follows one loop: analyze, find opportunities, create, distribute, measure and improve. The first four stages produce work. Without the fifth, nobody knows which of that work made a difference, and the next round of decisions is made on instinct.
Analytics answers a narrow, practical question: after this guide was published, this FAQ was added or this content was sent to channels, what changed in AI search? It does that by comparing the same pages and the same questions before and after each action, rather than reporting totals that mix everything together.
What Analytics tracks
| Area | What it shows |
|---|---|
| AI crawler visits | AI crawler access to your website, and whether crawlers return after content is published or edited |
| AI crawler types | Crawler access grouped by purpose where identifiable: training, search and live information retrieval |
| Pages AI cites | The pages and key passages cited in AI answers, and how citations change after content edits |
| AI referrals | Visitors arriving from AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini, and how that traffic changes |
| Competitors | Visibility and cited pages of your brand and competitors for the same questions |
| Traffic and leads | Results from website visits to lead acquisition, using connected data |
It starts with the action log
Every comparison in Analytics is anchored to something you did. The action log records content edits, new publications and channel distributions by date, including the work produced in Content Agent and sent out through Channel Agent.
With actions on a timeline, each chart can be read from the last action forward. Instead of asking whether AI visibility went up this month, you can ask whether it went up on the pages you changed, after you changed them.
From publishing to citation
A page does not appear in AI answers the moment it goes live. Analytics follows each logged action through the steps that lead to a citation, in time order.
- Logged. The edit, publication or distribution is recorded with its date and page.
- Crawled. AI crawlers visit the page after the action, or have not yet.
- Cited. The page, and the passages in it, start to appear as a source in AI answers.
Seeing where a page is stuck tells you what to do next. A page that has not been crawled is a different problem from a page that is crawled but never cited.
Comparing with competitors
A citation count means little on its own. Analytics compares the visibility and cited pages of your brand and your competitors for the same questions, and shows how your position changed before and after each marketing action. Your pages are placed among all the pages cited for those questions, so you can see which ones are strong and which ones need work.
The starting point for that comparison is the baseline you set in GEO Insight, which analyzes where your brand stands in AI search today.
An example from the demo workspace
The Analytics page on our site uses sample data for LumiHome, a fictional home-appliance brand. In that example, LumiHome publishes a buying guide for cordless vacuums and adds an FAQ to its product page. The workspace then shows crawler visits since the guide was published, AI referral visits by platform, and which guide and product pages are cited, each next to the action that preceded it.
One page in the example has no action yet, and it sits lowest among the cited pages. That is the kind of finding Analytics is meant to surface: not a score, but a page and a next step.
What happens with the results
Measurement is only useful if it changes what you do next. Analytics results connect to AI Marketer, which sets strategy from them and proposes improvement tasks and execution priorities. A fresh analysis in GEO Insight then sets the baseline for the next cycle.
- Overview and reports summarise results for the team.
- Questions keep the comparison tied to the questions that matter for your brand.
- Connected data brings traffic and lead data into the same view.
