Definition
Answerability is how clearly and completely a page answers a specific question. A page with high answerability states the answer early, supports it with specific evidence and is structured so the answer can be lifted out on its own.
It is the quality engines are selecting for when they choose which passage to quote. A page can be long, accurate and well-ranked and still score low if the answer is buried in the fourth paragraph.
Why it matters
Being retrieved is not enough. The engine still has to find a sentence worth quoting, and answerability is whether your page offers one.
How it is measured
Each priority page is checked against the question it targets: is there a direct answer near the top, is it specific, is it supported, is it structured. Content Agent scores answerability alongside structure, readability, freshness and verified facts before a draft is approved.
