Definition
Brand consistency is the state in which the brand name, product names, specifications, prices and core message agree everywhere they appear: the official site, resellers, press releases, social profiles and directories.
Engines synthesize everything the web says about you. When the website says “AI marketing platform”, the press release says “automation solution” and LinkedIn says “GEO company”, the engine sees three weaker companies instead of one clear one.
Why it matters
Every inconsistency is a chance for the engine to pick the wrong version. Consistency is the cheapest lever most teams have not pulled.
How it is measured
Compare the core facts across your own properties and the external pages the audit shows are cited, list every disagreement, fix the ones you control and request corrections for the rest. Re-check after each product or price change.
