What is Claim Verification?

Checking individual claims or figures about a brand against verifiable evidence such as official documents, test results and product material. Verified facts and unverified information are kept apart to manage content accuracy.

Definition

Claim verification is the practice of checking each individual statement about the brand against evidence that can be examined: an official document, a test report, a product specification, a dated survey.

“High customer satisfaction” cannot be verified; “94% satisfaction in a survey of 1,200 buyers in 2026” can. The verifiable form is also the form an engine can quote, which is why verification and citability tend to improve together.

Why it matters

Unverified claims are the ones that get dropped in summarization or, worse, contradicted by a review. Verified claims survive and get repeated.

How it is applied

List the claims you want engines to repeat, attach evidence to each with its source and date, mark the rest as unverified, and keep the verified set in Brand Knowledge so every page and draft uses the same supported statements.
